Catch up on A Decade of VR technology

How far it's come, where it's going, and how any entertainment business can be at the forefront

Back in 2012, a bold promise hit Kickstarter: real, modern, actually good virtual reality. The Oculus Rift blew past its goal within 24 hours, and launched a technological revolution that's created boundless opportunities with space for any company to participate.

But a lot's happened since that moment. On March 17, we'll look back and the decade and discuss how to be a part in a robust VR future:

  • What gives VR now its sticking power compared to less sophisticated forays into VR in the past — and how you can be sure it's not just a fad
  • What it means that massive companies like Meta (Facebook) are investing enormous resources into the technology — and what that means for smaller operators
  • Understand what you need to get the best VR installation — and prevent indecision letting you get left behind

We've seen this transformation. We've been a part of it. And now we're looking to help entertainment businesses of any size get in on it too!

One of the first questions facing VR developers? Well, the Oculus Rift was nice and all, but is it possible to break away from the wires?

Nowadays, with the Oculus Quest, the answer is of course, yes. But back then, and with the higher powered tethered headsets even now, the answer was by connecting them to backpack PCs. We've been a leader in the free-roam VR space ever since this tech made it possible, and have pioneered the unmatched, immersive, in-person group VR experiences that are taking over the location-based entertainment space.

We keep up with hardware advancement and continue to develop our unique line of virtual reality escape room experiences that let people freely explore incredible new worlds not accessible in any other way. To date, we've developed six incredible VR escape rooms and partnered with more than 90 diverse entertainment businesses to deliver the games to excited audiences.
